1. Golden Skybridge
The Golden Skybridge is so much more than Canada’s highest suspension bridge, it’s an action park featuring zip-lining, a high ropes course, climbing wall and new this August a mountain rail coaster! Bring a picnic basket or order food from the food trucks in the casual dining area. 2. Kicking Horse Gondola
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is well known for its epic powder skiing and gnarly slack country peaks accessible straight from the Gondola. Come summer time, the resort is transformed into a series of biking and hiking trails. A gondola ride up to the summit offers a humbling spine hike and the opportunity to dine at the Eagle’s Eye mountaintop restaurant. Possibly the greatest reason to visit is not something but someone! Boo the resident grizzly bear sleeps, hunts and plays inside his custom built refuge enclosure. Orphaned as a cub, Boo got a second lease on life when he was brought to the bear refuge for study. 3. Whitetooth Brewing Co.
Located in the heart of Golden BC, at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse Rivers, Whitetooth is a modern brew house specializing in Belgian and West Coast style beers. In summer their large outdoor patios host live music so you have a dance while enjoying a small batch beer flight. For travellers bringing their canine along Whitetooth has three designated dog friendly tables, minors however are prohibited. 4. Northern Lights Wolf Centre
For a fun, furry and educational outing head to the Northern Lights Wolf Centre just a short drive past Golden. The staff at this wolf sanctuary are incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the animals in their care. You can go on an interpretive tour or get up close and personal with these majestic protectors on a wolf hike! 5. White Water Rafting
