For those looking to get some amazing views in Glacier National Park and Rogers Pass, you don’t have to plan for a full day excursion. In fact, there are several options for those just passing through, or looking for a laid back option… more of a stroll.
The Rockgarden trail is the perfect leisurely stroll through the history of Rogers Pass (approx. 20 minutes). Explore the remnants of the Glacier House, the swanky hotel from which explorers and elite adventurers discovered the peaks of Glacier National Park. To access the walk, park just past Illecillewaet Campgrounds ( and make sure you have your Canada Parks Pass, which can be picked up at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre). Remember you are in bear country so walking in groups is always a good plan.
